Business Investor Visa now open

Immigration New Zealand has opened applications for the new Business Investor Visa. This visa is designed to bring investment, leadership experience and international capability into New Zealand businesses. It may be relevant if your organisation is considering growth, succession planning or expansion into new markets.
The visa offers two investment pathways:
• NZD 1 million investment in an existing business for a three year work to residence pathway
• NZD 2 million investment for a twelve month fast track to residence
Applicants may:
• acquire a business outright
• purchase at least twenty five percent of a business
• include a partner and dependent children in their application
This visa sits alongside the Active Investor Plus Visa and forms part of broader business immigration settings aimed at strengthening New Zealand’s commercial landscape through targeted investment.
Businesses may find this pathway useful when:
• seeking investment to support expansion
• planning ownership transition or succession
• bringing senior individuals into advisory or leadership roles
• developing international connections or capability
If you would like guidance on whether this visa may support your organisation our team can assess eligibility and outline the next steps.
